Victor Diz (23), born and raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, specifically in the Floresta neighborhood, is primarily known as a composer and arranger. He also works extensively as a studio and stage musician, proficient in playing 7-string guitar, electric guitar, and trumpet, while also catering to requests for music transcriptions or the organization/preservation of sheet music. Beyond music, he dabbles in literature, drawing, and painting.

His musical journey began in childhood when he enrolled in music classes for children in 2003. In 2007, he initiated his studies in electric guitar with Belo Horizonte-based teacher Raffa Cordeiro. From 2017 to 2019, he was mentored by Álvaro Kapaz from São Paulo, a Berklee School of Music graduate, in preparation for the respective college, although Victor opted to stay in Brazil to focus on the musical scene of his city and country.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Composition at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Victor studies under influential professors such as Wilson Lopes, Oiliam Lana, Rafael Martini, among others. He has been an active participant in his city's music scene since an early age and has been part of the coordination team at Estúdio Gunga since 2018, situated in the Morro das Pedras community, where he also serves as a record producer.

Throughout his career, Victor has contributed to the production of various works by artists such as Rick Silva, Mestre João Angoleiro, and Mestre Conga (alongside Jorge Bonfá). He has also participated in workshops with Doca Rolim (guitarist for the band Skank) and at Sonastério Studio with sound engineer Cris Simões, focusing on recording, mixing, and mastering.

As one of the founders of the collective "O Trem," Victor aims to assist musicians and street artists facing social vulnerability in entering the job market. During the pandemic, he provided virtual services to clients worldwide, primarily focusing on music transcription, score editing, and composition/arrangement of popular or classical pieces.

In 2022, Victor embarked on his solo project "Victor Diz," releasing his debut single on March 18th. "Macondo" was selected by Spotify's curators in the category of "Brazilian Jazz," garnering significant recognition from the local media. In the latter half of 2022, he was invited to participate as a guitarist in the musical "Os Sonhos Não Envelhecem" (Dreams Don't Age), which toured through various renowned venues across Brazil, under the direction of Dennis Carvalho, featuring esteemed artists such as Fernanda Montenegro, Milton Nascimento, Wagner Tiso, and Caetano Veloso.

Additionally, Victor worked as an assistant and interpreter for maestro Gianluca Febo at the "Lord Of The Rings in Concert" event, held at Expominas in November 2022. Currently, he works as a musician in the Pé D'Água de Gafieira group, playing choro and samba as a 7-string guitarist. He also performs in the Geraes Big-Band of UFMG, showcasing his skills as a guitarist, trumpeter, and arranger.

Víctor is also involved in a research project at the Federal University of Minas Gerais regarding the use of chords in Hermeto Pascoal's music, under the guidance of Professor Sérgio Freire, in conjunction with Felipe José's doctoral studies. This work has already been presented at the ANNPOM (National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Music) in 2023 and at the study journey of the University Bordeaux Montaigne in France (2024).
